Following the sudden death of his dad Victor (Eddie Osei) in Emmerdale, Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) has made a shocking confession.
Victor was recently found dead after running from the police, who believed that he had been responsible for stealing the necklace belonging to the Sharma’s.
Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) had been gifted the family heirloom by Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) while they were married, but following his unexpected death, son Jai (Chris Bisson) had been desperate to get it back.
After much consideration, Manpreet agreed to part with the gift, but was left confused when she went to hand it over and found that it was gone.
It soon reappeared in Victor’s pocket, leaving Claudette (Flo Wilson) horrified. Though Victor protested his innocence, Manpreet was certain that he was the culprit and ended up ringing the police.
Victor made a run for it, but was later found dead in the church by son Charles.
Following his tragic death, Charles realised that he had to come clean – Victor hadn’t stolen the necklace at all.
Revealing the awful truth to Manpreet, he revealed that he wanted to repair their relationship by getting Victor out of the way.
He thought that the best way to do this was to plant the stolen necklace, which he had hoped would make Manpreet throw him out of the house.
He insisted that he hadn’t expected her to call the police, leaving her wondering if he was accusing her of causing his father’s death.
Charles assured her that he wasn’t, taking full responsibility.
It wasn’t long before Manpreet insisted that he come clean to Claudette, who was still ashamed of her late husband’s actions.
As she fretted about the shame he had brought to their family, Manpreet urged Charles too reveal all.
Will he tell his mum the horrible truth, or leave her believing that Victor was a thief?
