TV presenter Stephen Mulhern’s fans were left fuming after Deal or no Deal was suddenly taken off air, weeks after the hit show made an iconic return.
Deal Or No Deal made its return on Monday 20 November, after six years off air, with a brand new look and brand new presenter.
Since its return, which follows the same format as the original show, fans have been glued to their TV screens as they watched a brand new batch of contestants win up to £100,000.
However, fans were left fuming on Monday 18 December when they got comfy to watch the new episode, only to find Tipping Point, hosted by Ben Shephard, took its slot in the schedule.
Deal or no Deal didn’t appear on TV screens earlier this week as the show was only scheduled for 20 episodes on ITV, running between November 20 and December 15.
Ahead of the 20th and final episode, TV presenter Stephen took to his Instagram where he announced that it was the last episode, as well as sharing one of his favourite moments.
Stephen penned: “Today is the last episode of this new series of Deal or No Deal! I know… unbelievable! This is one of my favourite moments of the past few weeks, when Sylvia gave The Banker an offer of her own…”.
Fans of the show were quick to express their disappointment, with many praising the show’s reboot for being such an entertaining series.
One fan penned: “Absolutely loved the new series of Deal Or No Deal. You have been an amazing presenter Stephen. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it”, while another added: “More series please and on for longer like every night for a year, loved this series. So so glad it’s back and you are a fab hose”.
A third added: “Last one of the series! Stephen we are all gutted in my house. We absolutely love it, come back soon please. Has been absolutely fab”, while a fourth asked: “when will deal or no deal be back?? Hopefully not long?”.
Fans didn’t have to wait too long to get their Deal or no Deal fix as a Christmas special was shown on ITV at 7 pm along with former football legend Michael Owen.
Stephen shared the news on Instagram as he wrote: “I’m very excited because TONIGHT is our Deal or No Deal Christmas Special! It’s with the absolutely brilliant @TheMichaelOwen, who brought along his family and friends to try to beat Scrooge himself… The Banker! You’re not going to want to miss it! 7pm on @ITV and @WeAreSTV!”
