Adam Thomas admits Strictly Come Dancing is helping his arthritis
Strictly Come Dancing’s Adam Thomas was missing alongside professional partner Luba Musktuk during Friday night’s episode of It Takes Two.
After being introduced to the BBC show, Luba explained Adam’s absence, saying: “He is resting now, he didn’t feel very well but he is resting and getting ready for tomorrow night, everything will be fine.”
Fleur East let out a sigh of relief and said: “Ok, good, take all the rest you need Adam, we love you.”
A Strictly spokesperson said “We are hopeful Adam will be better and able to perform this weekend.
“There are contingencies in place should he not be able to. The health and wellbeing of the Strictly cast and crew is production’s absolute priority.”
Praising Adam’s performance and how well he managed his nerves last week, she added: “We worked really hard on that routine.
“Adam, what he does every Saturday night as always, I am just in awe because everything that is going on with him, with work and so many other things, he just managed to always deliver the best.

“The number that he does on Saturday night is always the best from the whole week, I am just always in awe of him.” (sic)
Before taking to the dancefloor, Adam revealed he had been diagnosed and is battling with rheumatoid arthritis.
He recently opened up about trying to get the condition under control and told Metro.co.uk: “I’m managing alright.
“The team here at the BBC are putting me in touch with the right specialists, doctors, getting it all under control and doing the right physio.

“But we’re coping with it. It’s been tough, but I do think the dancing and getting out there and training every day is helping.
“Before this, I wasn’t really active because I was in so much pain, but I haven’t got any excuses now! I’ve gotta get up and dance.
“There are good days and bad days, with arthritis, you just never know when the flare-ups will happen, but we’re getting through it.”
Last week, Adam and Luba danced their couple’s choice to a Backstreet Boys megamix and wowed the judges.
They received two eights, a nine and a seven from the judges giving them a total of 32 and was joint top with Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell on the leaderboard.
