Sky news broadcaster Sally Lockwood has revealed she is pregnant after praising her colleagues for helping her hide it on air.
The reporter, who joined the broadcaster in 2017, announced the news in a post on X, formerly Twitter, saying that she had been hiding ‘a large belly, leggings and nausea on air’.
She thanked her team for looking after her and for helping keep her baby bump a secret from the public as she continued to appear on TV.
Mrs Lockwood said that she is now looking forward to being a viewer for a few months as she takes time off while on maternity leave.
In an earlier post on Saturday, Mr Lockwood revealed that it was her last day working for Sky before taking time off ‘to focus on personal admin’.

Mrs Lockwood said on X: ‘Big shout out to the Sky News family who’ve looked after me as I’ve attempted to hide a large belly, leggings and nausea on air….

‘Look forward to being a viewer for a few months & cheering you from the sidelines.’
In a longer post on Instagram, Mrs Lockwood added: ‘Make up artists, producers, technical staff & fellow journos have done so much to help me and look after me behind the scenes.
‘Sky News has the kindest people in the business as well as the best.’
Mrs Lockwood joined Sky News in 2017, where she started as a US correspondent.
During this time she reported on key moments in the country’s recent history including the 2019 presidential election, the Covid-19 pandemic and the murder of George Floyd.
She is now a news correspondent working in the UK and also reports from around the world.
She is fleunt in French and Italian and even flew to Italy before the country went into lockdown in 2020, where she reported on the pandemic for seven weeks.
Mrs Lockwood was previously a reporter for ITN and also spent six months working for the military new provider Forces News in Afghanistan.
