Police rush to scene of ‘incident’ outside busy Croydon shopping centre

Police have rushed to an incident in Croydon this morning after reports of a stabbing.
The incident happened in Wellesley Road outside the Whitgift shopping centre at around 9.15am.
Video and pictures emerged on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, of a huge police presence, while two white privacy screens surround the scene.
A number of Scotland Yard officers can be seen standing behind a cordon, with one holding up a towel while a paramedic carrying a medic bag crouches to the ground.
A London 60 route red bus can also be seen in one picture, surrounded by police cars, with officers standing nearby.

A huge police presence is in place while buses have been diverted because of the incident
Transport for London (TfL) has diverted its 60, 407, and 455 routes due to the incident.
MailOnline has contacted the Met Police, London Ambulance Service, and TfL for comment.
