UB40 saxophonist Brian Travers has thanked fans for allowing him to ‘live the dream’ after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The founding member of the band will miss the group’s upcoming 40th anniversary tour after suffering a seizure at home.

Subsequent scans revealed Travers to be suffering from two tumours.

The musician said he has lived a life free of regrets, and that the only thing left on his bucket list is returning to playing music.

But he has been forced to pull out of the planned UK tour celebrating four decades of UB40 just days before the first concert on Friday.

He will undergo surgery on the day he was due to begin the tour, and is expected to make a recovery within six months.

Travers said: ‘It is with great regret that I shall be unable to join my band mates in UB40 on our 40th anniversary tour, the guys have worked incredibly hard to perfect the songs in preparation for the live premier of our new album For The Many.

‘They sound great, but I shall be there in spirit, cheering them on from my convalescence and thinking of all the wonderful people out there who have supported us for the last 40 years, who I am now incredibly proud to count as friends.

‘I’ve had a great life with no regrets and have absolutely nothing to add to a bucket list except getting over this and getting back to the thing I love, playing music to anyone who wants to listen and expressing myself through painting and sculpture.

‘It’s been a huge privilege and I thank you all for the opportunity to “live the dream”.’

Red Red Wine creators UB40 have confirmed that the planned tour will still go ahead in Travers’ absence.

A statement from the band said: ‘We’re deeply saddened that Brian, our lifelong friend and founding member of UB40, is unable to join us for our celebratory UK tour.

‘We know he will be missed by all but his health and well-being come first, and we are sure our friends and fans will join us in wishing Brian a full and speedy return to health, and return to us.’

UB40 will begin their UK tour at Portsmouth’s Guildhall on Friday.

A pilot died in a horrific fireball after crashing a plane into a club in Botswana in an apparent bid to kill his wife after a row.

Charl Viljoen, a pilot with Kalahari Air Services, is said to have stormed out of the club house where his wife was attending a baby shower before stealing a small aircraft.

He allegedly made a number of threatening fly-pasts and a menacing phone call to someone at the club, prompting guests to flee for safety.

Footage showed the plane flying barely above the ground before it crashed into the venue near Mochudi, Botswana, close to the country’s border with South Africa.

The pilot was killed but his wife, Natasha Viljoen, and other guests were unharmed after they had grown suspicious and left the club house.

One witness told The Citizen: ‘They had a party at Matsieng, a baby shower, and that’s one of the Kalahari Air Services pilots and he had a fight with his wife there.

‘He actually hit his wife, and everybody told him to f**k off because you don’t treat a woman like that.’

The Matsieng flying club in Botswana said the pilot had been an ‘uninvited guest’ at the function in its aerodrome.

They said he had made ‘a number of low level fly pasts’, sparking fears for the guests’ safety and prompting them to evacuate the club.

Charl Viljoen is said to have called from the cockpit to ask if his wife Natasha (pictured together left) was still at the baby shower venue. Pictured right: the wreckage of the crash

It is also claimed he had called a friend at the party while he was in the cockpit and asked if his wife was still there.

He then made an ‘extreme low level run’ in which the aircraft crashed into the club house, destroying the building and traffic control tower and killing him.

The club added that they believed the pilot ‘had no permission to fly the aircraft involved.’

The fire resulting from the crash also destroyed 13 vehicles which were parked nearby but nobody else was injured, the club said.

The plane involved was described as a 2016 Beechcraft Kingair B200 aircraft A2-MBM.

One heroic British SAS fighter brutally ended an ISIS onslaught to allow his comrades to take cover – killing 30 belligerents in a six-round blitz that ‘shattered’ their hideout.

SAS troops working alongside Kurdish forces were engaging in hand to hand combat in the then-ISIS stronghold of Baghouz last month.

A specially adapted Army Landrover operator responded to an ambush on SAS troops, firing with a grenade machine gun (GMG) – which can launch 350 high explosive rounds per minute.

The operation was part of the bloody final frontier of the conflict that ended today with Syrian forces announcing that ISIS has been defeated in the country after losing Baghouz.

The ISIS fighters had been given several chances to surrender, instead opting to die as ‘martyrs’.

Soldiers were on the ground on the outskirts of the town when terrorists fired shots at them from a former bank, injuring one solider.

Upon inspection of the scene a few days later, troops found around 30 bodies in the ‘shattered’ building, according to a source.

The source told The Daily Star: ‘After the SAS and Kurdish fighters came under attack, one SAS trooper opened fire with the grenade launcher to allow other members of the patrol to get into cover.’

At least six grenades were fired into the building until it collapsed.

The source added: ‘When Kurdish troops returned a few days later they discovered at least 30 bodies inside the shattered building – all were IS fighters and most had died from shrapnel wounds from the grenades fired into the building.

‘The automatic grenade launcher is a real force multiplier. It allows troops to lay down a massive amount of fire-power very quickly.’

Jeremy Corbyn's son Tommy spotted smoking what looks like a spliff outside cafe

JEREMY Corbyn’s son grins as he puffs on what appears to be a spliff outside a cafe.

Tommy, 26, was pictured carefully preparing the roll-up before taking deep drags seconds later.

Anyone caught smoking cannabis can be fined £90 or issued a warning by cops.

But the photos are unlikely to bother his Labour leader dad, who called for the drug to be decriminalised 19 years ago.

Tommy was spotted with a pal at a cafe in Notting Hill, West London.

In photos, he is seen using a Julian Marley Juju Royal grinder before carefully tipping green leaves into rolling paper.

He then sealed it, lit it and puffed away.

The snaps emerged as Tommy prepares to cash in on “cannabis culture” by launching his own hemp businesses.

He has set up two firms with girlfriend Chloe Kerslake-Smith, 25 — National Hemp Service and The Hemp Cafe.

Revealing his plans last year, Tommy wrote online: “Watch this space…#WeedIsGood.”

And on Twitter last month he said he hoped both businesses would open in North London “very soon”.

Last night a friend said: “What Tommy was smoking is legal under UK law and is what his shop will be selling.”

Labour said at the last election the party “does not support legalisation of cannabis”.

But Mr Corbyn signed an early day motion in 2000 calling for the class B drug to be decriminalised.

And last year he said: “Criminalising people for possession of small amounts of cannabis is not a particularly good idea.”

2 US service members killed in Afghanistan

Two U.S. service members were killed in Afghanistan on Friday, according to military officials.

The two were killed “while conducting an operation,” according to a statement from NATO’s Resolute Support.

There were no further details given about how they were killed or where the incident took place.

The victims’ names will not be released until 24 hours after their families have been notified, in accordance with Department of Defense policy.

The deaths are the third and fourth by U.S. service members in Afghanistan this year.

Sgt. Cameron Meddock, 26, was shot during a fire fight on Jan. 13, 2019, in Jawand District, Badghis Province, Afghanistan. The Texas native later died at a U.S. military hospital, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, in Germany.

Staff Sgt. Joshua Beale, the second U.S. death in Afghanistan this year, came nine days later when he was killed by hostile fire in Tarinkot, Uruzgan Province. The 32-year-old Green Beret was from Virginia and on his third tour of duty.

Patrick Shanahan, then-acting defense secretary, said on a trip to Afghanistan last month that he had not been directed to reduce troop numbers in the country. ABC News previously reported the U.S. would draw some 7,000 troops from the country — half of the U.S. forces — sometime in 2019.

Pop star who had surgery to ‘restore virginity’ having op to get ‘Madonna’s abs’

A controversial singer and TV star who went under the knife to 'restore her virginity' is having another op to give her abs like pop icon Madonna and a bum like model Emily Ratajkowski.

Spanish pop star Leticia Sabater made headlines in 2015 when she paid £4,000 for an operation to widen her vagina and restore her hymen at 48.

Now 52, the TV presenter has announced she is spending £13,000 for vaser liposuction to have abs like her idol Madonna, 60.

Ms Sabater was ridiculed in 2014 when a known Kim Jong-un impersonator contacted her on Twitter and tricked her into thinking he was the North Korean dictator.

The impersonator invited her to perform at a music festival in Pyongyang and Ms Sabater began negotiating a contract before she realised she was being hoodwinked.

The pop star will undergo vaser liposuction next week in Barcelona.

Fat will be sucked from parts of her body and inserted where she wants to see her bits boosted.

Ms Sabater boasted: “I will have the abs of Madonna, the hips of Kim Basinger and the bum of Emily Ratajkowski!”

The surgery will reportedly take six hours and is carried out under a general anaesthetic.

Ms Sabater said: “It lasts forever unless you eat like crazy.

"You need to take care of yourself later in life.

“All surgeries are a risk, and this one is over six hours.

"But I have taken risks all my life – both personally and professionally.

“I always wanted a naturally ripped body.

"But it would take months to achieve it.”

Is Josef Fritzl still alive, what did he do and where is his daughter Elisabeth now?

DEPRAVED rapist Josef Fritzl imprisoned his own daughter in a sex dungeon in Austria where he fathered seven children with her over a 24 year period.

Fritzl was jailed for life in 2009 and has reportedly since changed his name. Here's how his heinous crimes were finally uncovered.

Who is Josef Fritzl?

In 1984, Fritzl lured his 18-year-old daughter Elisabeth into his cellar where he drugged and raped her repeatedly.

After telling his own wife that Elisabeth had run away and joined a cult, Fritzl managed to keep his daughter prisoner in the soundproof basement for 24 years.

Josef fathered seven children with his own child in the small cellar where he installed cramped living quarters including a kitchen and bathroom.

While one of the children died shortly after birth, and was incinerated by Fritzl, three of the other kids were brought upstairs to live with him and his wife Rosemarie.

Fritzl told his wife the children belonged to Elisabeth, and had been left on their doorstep as she was unable to care for them.

The three remaining children were kept in the windowless cellar –aged five to 19 when released – and would first see sunlight in 2008.

Fritzl’s crimes were uncovered when the oldest cellar child, a 19-year-old girl, became seriously ill.

Elisabeth begged her father to take the girl, Kerstin, to hospital, but doctors quickly alerted police after questioning the teenager – who had never been in the outside world before.

In March 2009, Fritzl was jailed for life after pleading guilty to murder by negligence over the death of the baby he cremated.

The other charges included enslavement, incest, rape, coercion and false imprisonment.

What happened to Elisabeth Fritzl?

Elisabeth – whose first words to police when she was freed was “no one will believe me” – and her six surviving children lived in a fortress-like house in northern Austria after their release, where they all received regular psychological treatment, The Times reported.

She fell out with her mum Rosemarie but the pair have now reconciled and the rapist's wife enjoys a close relationship with the three kids she raised with him in the upstairs home, The Independent reported in 2010

It has also been reported that Elisabeth, now 52, is in a romantic relationship with one of her bodyguards.

All the family members were offered new identities by Austrian authorities and are protected from the media spotlight.

In March 2019, further details were revealed about Elisabeth's relationship with her bodyguard.

After escaping from her horrific ordeal, she moved to a tiny hamlet in the Austrian countryside to start a new life at the age of 42.

She fell in love with her bodyguard, Thomas Wagner – who is 23 years her junior – after spending months together when she was freed, Oesterreich newspaper reported.

He was assigned to guard her and the six surviving children she had with her father while she was imprisoned in a cellar for 24 years.

"They are a couple," a source told the newspaper. "Everyone saw from the beginning how secure she felt with him."

The relationship is said to have given Elisabeth "renewed strength" in her journey towards normality.

Thomas moved to live with Elisabeth and her children, now aged between 17 and 31.

Is Josef Fritzl still alive?

Fritzl, 84, is serving his life sentence in a special prison unit for the criminally insane in Austria's Krems-Stein prison.

In March 2019, it was reported that his health is rapidly declining and he reportedly doesn't want to live  as he rots in prison.

Now his fellow inmates believe the end may soon be near.

Fritzl is reportedly suffering from dementia and his condition has deteriorated recently.

A fellow prisoner told local media: “Fritzl was and still is separated from everyone else.

“He has totally withdrawn himself and barely leaves his cell. He doesn’t want contact with others, and all together it looks as though he has resigned himself to dying.”

He added that the other inmates do not want anything to do with Austria's most infamous convict.

Fritzl was jailed in 2009 but was told he could possibly seek parole after 15 years.

A British-born journalist who covered the infamous case says Fritzl thinks he will one day be a free man despite his evil crimes.

Mark Perry, who first broke the story of the crime, told Channel 5 documentary Fritzl: What Happened Next: “Fritzl is still in prison of course, and he still dreams of coming free.

“That’s what the solicitor told me. He still thinks he’ll come free one day, go fishing and, and carry on with life.”

Fritzl has since changed his surname to Mayrhoff, it's been reported.

He paid the City Council of Krems 545 euros (£465) for the formal name change in May 2016, according to Krone.

What happened to Fritzl's basement and who lives in the house?

In June 2017 it was revealed the house of horrors was being rented out, with some ghouls paying up to £700 a month to stay there.

The property in the Austrian town of Amstetten was bought by Herbert and Ingrid Houska for just £140,784 in 2016.

They undertook a massive renovation project to “bury the past” and now rent it out the ten flats for between £347 to £700.

But the basement where Elisabeth and the children were imprisoned is not in use to prevent it becoming a shrine to other perverts.

A monster father who sexually abused his daughters from the age of four and let his co-workers gang rape them has been jailed after more than two decades of torment.

The 80-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his daughters, pleaded guilty to 87 charges in the Townsville District Court last week.

During a police interview, he blamed the 20-plus years of relentless sexual abuse on a ‘vision’ he had of one of his daughters becoming a drug addict and prostitute.

He claimed he wanted to ‘shock’ the girl out of following the path he saw in the vision, and subjected her to vaginal, anal and oral rape at knifepoint.

In a chilling twist, the girls’ mother knew of the abuse and did nothing to stop it, the Townsville Bulletin reported.

The court heard of one incident where the man forced the family dog upon one of his daughters.

On another occasion the mother loaned $300 to her then 15-year-old daughter to pay for an abortion after the girl was impregnated by her rapist father. She was then made to pay back the money.

He also allowed his daughter to be gang-raped by groups of men after taking her to his workplace.

‘My father is a person I have feared all my life. He has had a lifelong traumatic impact on me,’ one of the abused daughters wrote in a victim impact statement submitted to the court.

‘I was just a little girl and could not understand what I had done wrong to warrant such vile treatment, punishment and threats by my father.’

The woman detailed how her whole ‘world fell apart’ and ‘life changed forever’ when her mother walked in on her being abused by her father and did nothing to stop it.

When she reached adulthood the abuse didn’t stop, and in one incident the father raped his daughter while she was pregnant to her husband.

He would rape her while her husband was at work, and threaten to kill her or the unborn child if she told anyone.

Defence barrister Tom Polley argued that his client was extremely remorseful for his decades long abuse and regretted what had happened.

Judge Lynham sentenced the father to 27 years jail, causing one of the daughters to let out a cry from the public gallery.

She said she would carry the trauma of her father’s actions for the rest of her life.

Michael Jackson praised Adolf Hitler, based stage outfits on fascist uniforms and collected Nazi memorabilia

MICHAEL Jackson once praised Adolf Hitler as a "genius" and sought out Nazi documentaries, it is claimed.

The pop icon, who died in 2009, also allegedly wore clothing which resembled that of Nazi soldiers.

Jackson's comments about the leader of the Third Reich were made during interviews with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, whom he befriended.

The conversations were published in a book called The Michael Jackson Tapes, which was published shortly after the singer's death.

In one interview, Jackson is quoted as saying: "Hitler was a genius orator.

"To make that many people turn and change and hate, he had to be a showman and he was."

Boteach then goes on to ask Michael if he believed he could "somehow touch something inside of Hitler" if he had an hour with him.

Michael was said to reply: "Absolutely. I know I could."

Boteach previously told The Sun: "Michael despised what Hitler had done.

"When it came to believing he could heal Hitler, that was hopeless naïvety."

NAZI FILMS

Nazi memorabilia seller Norman Scherer claimed in 2010 that he helped the Thriller singer build "a really good collection", featuring rare films and documentaries.

Titles were said to include Nazis: Of Pure Blood, Oasis of the Zombies and Hitler's Children, the New York Post reports.

Scherer even claimed that Michael would display the tapes openly on the walls of his video vault at his Neverland ranch.

And in 2016, Lady Gaga triggered a Twitter storm by attending a Hillary Clinton rally wearing a jacket which some social media users likened to Nazi uniforms, MailOnline reports.

It later emerged that the black-and-red military-style garment once belonged to the King of Pop.

He was photographed wearing the jacket during a meeting with then-President George H W Bush at the White House in 1990.

Michael has recently come back under intense scrutiny following the release of a Netflix documentary titled Leaving Neverland, in which two men accuse him of having sexually abused them as young boys.
