Adam Thomas has already started bickering with his wife over his lack of dance experience, after he was revealed as the first celebrity contestant of Strictly Come Dancing 2023.
The Waterloo Road star, who has been married to Caroline Daly since 2017, revealed that his wife is also a dance teacher but hasn’t given him any words of advice.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: “She’s a dance teacher. But no, she’s not given me any tips.
“We literally had this argument the other day because I was like, ‘Why have you not taught me how to dance after all these years I’ve been with you?’
“And she was like, ‘Well, you’ve never taught me how to act.'”

He continued: “I was like, ‘Yeah, very good point actually!'”
After he was revealed to have signed up to the dance competition, Adam opened up about how his famous brothers reacted to the news.
He admitted that Ryan and Scott Thomas “laughed” at him and said that they “didn’t understand” his decision.
“They just laughed,” he said. “They were like, ‘I don’t understand why you’d want to do a show when you cannot dance.’

“Again, that’s why we’re here, to learn how to dance. Everybody wants to see the progression through the series, and I’ll definitely give them that.”
Despite being belittled by his siblings, Adam continued to say that other family members have supported him.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, he recalled: “My kids are great dancers so they’ve been teaching me and showing me a few things, my son’s nine this week, Elsie’s five, so they’re going to be watching it and they’re huge fans of the show already.
“We’re going on this journey, but it’s not just us, it’s our family as well.
“They’ll be watching us every night, cheering us on, that’s what it’s about for me.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 6.35pm.
