I don't have to use the dryer with my laundry hack and no more 'crunchy clothes' – it saves you $100s on energy bills | The Sun

A TIKTOKER'S nifty laundry hack saves her hundreds on energy bills and gets rid of her crunchy clothes problem.

Crunchy clothes is a term used when there's soap residue in your clothes from all the times they have been washed, making them uncomfortable to wear.

TikTok user Krystalynn Gier (@KrystalynnGier) received a comment from a viewer asking for laundry tips.

"Whenever I air dry my clothes, they come out really stiff and uncomfortable," the person wrote. "Is there a way to avoid this or is that just part of air drying?"

Krystalynn said she knew exactly what the problem was and offered her advice.

"Air drying your clothes will keep them in tip-top shape," she said. "It saves you money and is good for the planet.

"If you're struggling with crunchy clothes after air drying, try one of these three things and see if it works for you."

The first tip Krystalynn suggested was using less detergent or fabric softener.

"If you use too much, it leaves residue on your clothes which will make them stiff," she said.

The next tip is to shake the clothes out before putting them on the drying rack.
