MR Kipling's exceedingly good cakes have become exceedingly expensive.
Earlier this year consumer watchdog Which? warned Bakewell tarts and chocolate slices had gone up by 129 per cent and 98.7 per cent respectively.
And a pack of eight Angel Slices will now set you back a staggering £4.15 at some supermarkets.
But are any of the cheaper, copycat versions as good?
We asked Lynsey Hope, 42, from West Malling, Kent, to taste some own brand 'dupes' to see if they taste as good…

6 The Mr Kipling cakes were exceedingly expensive Credit: Oliver Dixon Lynsey says: "Incredibly sweet, but tasty none the less.
"These had more vanilla cream in the middle than any of the dupes and the pink piping looked more elegant.
"Pricey though when you consider they are tiny and cost over 45p each.
"These do come in individual plastic packaging which helps keep them fresher for longer."

Morrisons Angel Cake Slices (174g)
£1.39 (23p each)
Lynsey says: "Considering these cakes cost less than half the price of Mr Kipling's slices, I thought they were pretty good.
"The colours were pretty and I couldn't wait to tuck in. The sponge was light and airy and the icing gave them a lovely flavour.
"I would have preferred more vanilla in the middle, but overall not bad at all."
Score: 4/5
Aldi Holly Lane Angel Slices (165g)
99p (16.5p each)
Lynsey says: "The sponge was soft and tasty but you couldn't taste the vanilla filling very well and the crust on these bakes was a little overdone.
"They looked the most similar to Mr Kipling's cakes, with vertical pink piping. A great price, but not the tastiest."
Score: 3/5
Tesco Angel Cake Slices (160g)
£1.10 (18.3p each)
Lynsey says: "Much drier than Mr Kipling's cakes and the pink half of the sponge was very light in colour.
"They needed more icing and more vanilla cream in the centre. Not the tastiest, I wouldn't rush back for these."
Score: 2/5
Lidl Rowan Hill Bakery Angel Slices (165g)
£1.05 (18p each)
Lynsey says: "Soft and moist, I was impressed with Lidl's cakes.
"The sponge was light and airy and the vanilla flavour icing had a lovely flavour. The pink piping was pretty and delicate.
