Identical 84-year-old twins have worn matching outfits for YEARS

Identical 84-year-olds who have been dressing in matching outfits every day since BIRTH become internet superstars thanks to their eerie resemblance to the twins from the Shining

  • Utah’s Anne McQueen and Susan Briggs have dressed similarly since childhood
  • ‘It isn’t to attract attention, we just like the same clothes,’ Anne insisted
  • But the twins still enjoy the trickster potential of their shared appearance

A pair of octogenarian twins from Utah have taken the internet by storm for their decades-long habit of dressing in matching outfits.

Anne McQueen and Susan Briggs, both 84, have taken a great deal of pride in their shared outer presentation over the years.

‘We’ve always worn exactly the same thing,’ Susan told The Washington Post.

It has gotten to the point where one goes shopping and they will reportedly buy two of the same thing.

Identical twins Anne McQueen and Susan Briggs, both 84, have always taken pride in their shared appearance

‘It isn’t to attract attention, we just like the same clothes,’ Anne told The Washington Post

‘It isn’t to attract attention, we just like the same clothes,’ Anne added.

Still, the pair have a propensity for leaning into the trickster potential of their identical appearance.

Both are retired health and physical education teachers, and they recalled how they used to prank students on April Fool’s Day .

‘Susan would walk in and start teaching with me in the class,’ Anne told the newspaper.

‘We’d be in the same outfits. The students would just scream. They couldn’t believe it.’

As camp counselors at one point in time, Anne recalled: ‘None of the campers could ever tell who their counselors were.’

The two are well known in their native Salt Lake City  — where they reside just a 10-minute drive away from one another — with strangers doing double takes on passing them, they described.

‘They really react, and it just cheers people up when they see two people alike,’ Anne gushed.

The twins were born and raised in Salt Lake City – where they still reside just a 10-minute drive from one another

The pair believe they have a psychic connection – what they call ‘twin telepathy’

‘We have the same brain,’ Susan said of her and her sister. Pictured are the pair as children

Susan said that neither she or Anne ‘go anywhere without telling the other where we are. It was always that way’

When they worked as camp counselors at the same time, ‘none of the campers could ever tell who their counselors were,’ Anne said

Before retirement, both worked as health and physical education teachers – and admitted they’d sometimes prank their students

As children, the pair had a portrait painted of them in which they bear an eerie resemblance to the twins from The Shining – which they’ve often leaned into

As of late, Anne’s grandson-in-law Mikey Metcalfe has been documenting the twins’ matching outfits on his TikTok

As of late, the duo have been launched into social media fame by Anne’s grandson-in-law, Mikey Metcalfe, who’s married to her granddaughter, Missa.

Through TikTok handle @moandmiss, Mikey has shared countless images and video clips of ‘The Grandmas’ — as he’s dubbed them — racking up nearly 80,000 followers in the process.

As children, ‘The Grandmas’ also posed for a portrait in which they bear an eerie resemblance to the ghost-twins in The Shining.

It’s a similarity that they’ve gleefully leaned into from time to time, posing for pics in matching blue dresses à la the haunted characters.

The two also insist they share a psychic connection — what they call ‘twin telepathy,’ according to The Washington Post.

‘We have the same brain,’ Susan said.

Susan also said that neither of them ‘go anywhere without telling the other where we are,’ adding: ‘It was always that way.’

The sisters’ fondness for matching their clothes was never a ploy for internet fame — it simply originated as personal preference, they insisted.

‘We’re always doing fun things… It keeps us young,’ Susan said.

‘We just have always been very identical,’ Anne emphasized.

‘All through our childhood and adulthood, we have dressed alike.’

The two aren’t the only twins to lean into their similar appearances.

Earlier this fall, DailyMail.com reported on a pair of 69-year-old New Hampshire twins who’ve been dressing identically for 23 years.
