A woman in a relationship with a man 13 years her junior has revealed people often mistake her for his mother. 

Mel Moon, 43, from Burnley, has been married to her husband Alfie, 30, since 2021 – but says people who don’t know the pair make judgments about their romance.

She also claimed that people assume that Alfie is only with her for her money – and joked she doesn’t have enough money for him to be able to take.  

The mother-of-three, who often posts about her marriage on TikTok, took to her page to post a hilarious video poking fun at the age gap between herself and Alfie.

The clip, which racked up over 240,000 views, was captioned: ‘My husband and I are in an age gap relationship. Hopefully this clears things up haha.

The comedian and Alfie went onto reveal details about their age-gap relationship.

She said: ‘We have an age gap relationship so at least once when we go out somebody will refer to me as his mum.

Alfie then chimed in: ‘We are in an age gap relationship and when she refers to our childhood she really means hers, because I wasn’t even born yet.’

Mel explained that as a result of her man being younger, she doesn’t have to worry about him playing with her emotions.

She said: ‘We are in an age gap relationship, so when I tell him to stop playing games, I mean literal PS5 games, not games with my feelings.’

Alfie added: ‘We are in an age gap relationship and what the f**k are Werther’s originals?’

While Mel said: ‘We are in an age gap relationship and no, I don’t think Central Cee is the Shakespeare of our time.’ 

Alfie then added: ‘We are in an age gap relationship and I like to go to bed at normal times. But she likes to go to bed at the same time as my nan.’

She said: ‘We are in an age gap relationship and everybody thinks he’s with me for my money, but what people don’t know is, I don’t actually have any money.’

Alfie added: ‘We are in an age gap relationship and at least once a day I like to remind her how old she is because I remember women love that s**t.’

Finally, Mel quipped: ‘We are in an age gap relationship, so when he does remind me how old I am, I send him to bed.’
