Coronation Street: Ryan Connor considers online sex work
Coronation Street fans have claimed they have worked out a way for Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) to stay in the soap and live in Weatherfield for “years to come”.
Spoiler pictures recently revealed that the body of Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) is found in the canal, in his mother’s roof box which he stole.
Other images later saw Stephen getting out of a taxi at an airport, looking as if he was fleeing the country over fears of being caught for his crimes.
Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), Elaine Jones (Paul Wilcox), Carla Connor (Alison King) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) have all become suspicious of Stephen and his actions around the cobbles.
Many viewers have been preparing for his last murder and his downfall, but other have worked out a clever trick wich could mean the serial killer will stay.

Taking to Reddit, one viewer theorised: “Frame Paul for the murders as we know he is leaving, forge confessions by Paul, we know he stole Rufus’s car so they already know he was there. Then, Stephen could stay, like killers Tracy and Gary.”
Another fan agreed and added: “It is a fair point Tracy and Gary have been allowed to stay long term despite killing multiple people so why not Uncle Stephen.” (sic)
Many fans are keen for Stephen to stay, with some revealing that his storyline and personality are the only reasons they watch the show.
One wrote: “I would love him to be a permanent fixture. He is the main reason I crave Coronation Street.”

A second added: “He’s one of the main reasons I watch. Would love for him to stay.” (sic)
One Reddit user wrote that they hope Stephen departs in a “blaze of glory” and said: “I don’t see anyone else on the horizon in terms of who could be killed, we’re not that far ahead so they could surprise me at any time.
“I was trying to get the grandstands on telly, I want to be the one who’s killed the most. But in a sense, I think he’s an accidental killer. When he first killed Leo, it was actually scripted to be more of a scuffle for the phone and then he went over.
“But I decided, ‘Let’s let Stephen have a little more to do with that.’ There’s no end in sight but I have a feeling he’ll get caught.
“I would like personally for him to go out in a blaze of glory, I don’t want him to disappear and go back. I want something finite because I think the audience is losing their minds.” (sic)
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
