EastEnders viewers are demanding show bosses bring back fan favourite character fatboy Arthur "Fatboy" Chubb after he appeared in a flashback episode.
Tuesday’s episode (August 2023) saw Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) forced to explain herself to her long-lost husband George Knight after sharing a surprise reunion outside the Queen Vic pub.
An unhappy Cindy was drinking and paranoid about George's fidelity when she got a call from her witness protection handler DCI Mary Nicholls (Penny Layden), informing her of the death of her daughter Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) back in Walford.

During a visit to Walford after the news, Cindy and her witness protection officer Mary were briefly interrupted when a chirpy Arthur "Fatboy" Chubb, played by actor Ricky Norwood, interrupted them to ask for the time and began speaking a mile a minute about meeting his friends.
He also referenced his friendship with landlady and housemate Dorothy "Dot" Branning (the late June Brown).
Fans were ecstatic to see him back on the screen and wanted him back on the show for good.
“They need to bring back Fatboy full time too, we never saw a body and he is another great character that is really missed,” said one fan.
“Fatboy I screamed bring him back from the dead right now,” penned a second, while a third added: “IF THEY CAN BRING CINDY BACK FROM THE DEAD THEN THEY CAN BRING FATBOY BACK.”
In 2015, Fatboy appeared to meet a tragic end after being mistaken for someone else and kidnapped by henchmen.
He was locked in a car's trunk, which was then crushed. Vincent, Fatboy's friend, concealed the truth from others and sent fake postcards to create the illusion that Fatboy had left the country.

However, during an episode related to Dot's funeral in December, fans noticed a card signed by Arthur using Fatboy's nickname for her, 'Mrs B'.
The card's message sparked speculation that Fatboy might still be alive despite the earlier belief of his death.
Elsewhere in the episode, Linda interrupts their chat and implores George for his selfishness considering all the hard work Elaine has put in for Anna’s party.
Realising her daughters are inches away, Cindy rushes into the bar and comes face-to-face with Anna and Gina as well as the residents of Walford.
Ian also arrived at The Vic looking for Cindy and he bumps in to Sharon and Phil, who are shocked to see him.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
