The Bachelorette’s Josh Seiter alive after Instagram ‘death hoax’

The Bachelorette star Josh Seiter has posted a video declaring he’s not dead – after becoming the latest star in an Instagram death hoax.

A statement yesterday evening announced the star had passed away at the age of 36, with the implication he had hurt himself as it came just days after a post about him ‘getting through depression one day at a time with a smile’.

However, Josh appeared alive and well – if somewhat confused by the development – in a new video after getting back his account.

“My account was hacked for the last 24 hours, I’ve been trying desperately to get into it,” he said.

“Somebody was playing a cruel joke, and mocking my mental illness and the struggles I’ve gone through with depression and suicide attempts.”

“I’m sorry for all the pain they caused when they made that post,” he added. “I just got back into my account.

“I’m going to do all I can with my team to try to identify who was behind this.

“I apologise for the confusion and I will update you guys as more facts come in.”

The death announcement has since been removed from his Instagram grid as well.

In the original post, which went up late Monday in the USA, described the OnlyFans content creator and exotic dancer as “an incredibly bright light in an increasingly dim world.”

The death was described as “sudden” and added: “His fearless voice and indomitable spirit helped thousands of people in tier darkest moments feel just a little less alone.

“Although our heartache at Joshua’s passing pains us beyond measure, we find comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace.”

Josh appeared on the 11th season of The Bachelorette, but was unfortunately eliminated in the first week.
