Emmerdale spoilers reveal Lydia’s horrific rape storyline

Lydia Dingle ( Karen Blick ) is set to face a traumatic ordeal next week on Emmerdale when she's raped by her ex-boyfriend and boss Craig (Ben Addis) in harrowing scenes.

Lydia becomes uncomfortable when Craig arrives unannounced and wants to talk about their past.

She nervously takes him to the place where their baby’s ashes are scattered, and they bond over what their son’s life might have been. United in grief, later they share a charged moment and almost kiss.

Lydia keeps what happened from husband Sam (James Hooton ) but confides in Kim Tate (Claire King) and decides the best thing to do is resign from her job with Craig. She falters, however, when Craig tells her how much their renewed connection has meant to him.

But as Craig starts to confess his feelings, Lydia becomes more and more uncomfortable, and she’s terrified as Craig forces himself upon her.

After being raped, Lydia’s in a state of shock and unable to process what’s happened. Craig drives her home and once there, she makes an excuse and heads upstairs. Silently sobbing in the shower, Lydia hides away the clothes that she’s been wearing, and seems resolved to keep her trauma a secret.

Trying to bring his family together, Caleb Miligan (William Ash) suggests making the driving business a joint venture between Cain Dingle ( Jeff Hordley ), Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope).

While Nate shows an interest, Cain isn’t keen. However, it’s clear his feelings towards his brother are softening and Cain could be persuaded.

Later, there’s a big moment of acceptance into the family for Caleb when he drinks from the Dingle welly! At the end of the evening, a successful family gathering draws to a close and the brothers work together when they set about cleaning up.

Chas Dingle ( Lucy Pargeter ) is pleased to see relations thawing between them. The next day, Caleb is amused when Cain ropes him in to help at the garage.

Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) gets unsettled when Tom King (James Chase) mentions he might get a new place away from the village.

Later, Belle’s thrown to see a hint of chemistry between Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and Tom and the feelings worsen when she sees Dawn take a ride with Tom in his fancy new car.

A double date with Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) and Dawn doesn’t help things when Belle’s feelings get the better of her and she leaves, before Tom is then called away on an emergency call. However, there’s a shock when Tom is mugged for his car keys and struck on the head by his attackers.
