Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire trailer

Following their own solo outings, Godzilla and King Kong finally faced off in 2021’s Godzilla vs Kong.

Now the MonsterVerse saga continues with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which has an action-packed first trailer.

The film’s official synopsis reads: “The epic battle continues! Legendary Pictures’ cinematic Monsterverse follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs Kong with an all-new adventure that pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence—and our own.

“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire delves further into the histories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”

Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry return from Godzilla v Kong as Dr Ilene Andrews and Bernie Hayes respectively.

Joining the cast this time around is Dan Stevens in an undisclosed role, while Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire hits UK cinemas on April 12, 2024.

In the meantime, for fans wanting to get their Kaiju fix sooner, there’s Godzilla Minus One.

The Japanese Godzilla movie is set just after the end of World War II and is set for release in UK cinemas on December 15, 2024.
