Homes Under the Hammer host bursts into tears as previously homeless mum secures dream property in emotional scenes | The Sun

A HOST on Homes Under the Hammer was moved to tears after being shown around the new property of a formerly homeless mum.

Martel Maxwell got emotional while listening to the plans Nicole had for the £115k house.

The new owner shared that she wanted to renovate the building and team up with the local council in Nuneaton or a charity to help another rough sleeper rent their first home.

Although Nicole broke one of the show's golden rules when purchasing the house, Martel held back from telling her off when she heard the mum's inspirational story.

The mum admitted that she sent her son Jeremiah to bid on the property without viewing it.

But she then explained the reasons behind wanting to rent the house out to people who are struggling financially, saying: "I, myself, was homeless so I kind of know how it feels.

"So when I do actually rent out a place it's done up to not a luxurious level, but it's done to a decent level.

"You see the look on a person's face when they actually get the keys and they're excited and it just makes me feel nice, so I think that's probably why I do it."

Her 16-year-old son then added: "I feel very proud to say that Nicole is my mother. I feel like she's just done a lot and she helps a lot of people and I feel like it's a beautiful thing to do."

The Homes Under the Hammer host could be seen wiping away tears as the pair spoke.

An emotional Martel then shared: "It's so lovely. As a mum I would love my child to be towering above me one day and saying 'I'm so proud of you, mum' – but what she's done is incredible, just amazing, well done.

"I'm not gonna give you a hard time anymore for not viewing the property, because frankly it doesn't really matter, does it? Anything can be fixed!"
