‘I was in the I’m A Celeb jungle and one part was a massive anti climax’

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here 2014 finalist Jake Quickenden has revealed what it's like to be on the reality show until the very end, ahead of tonight’s live final.

The 35 year old finished as runner-up nine years ago, as motorcycle racer Carl Fogarty became king of the jungle.

On Sunday, 10 December, either former politician Nigel Farage, Made In Chelsea ’s Sam Thompson or boxer Tony Bellew will become the latest star to be named champion.

The trio will leave the jungle tonight, but Jake has said that when he left the jungle it felt like a bit of an “anti-climax,” as he didn’t get to do the famous walk across the bridge to his loved one.

Speaking to the Metro, Jake revealed: “I didn’t even get to walk across the bridge, I remember rocking up, and my mum was there, and it was a bit of an anti-climax because I never got to do the bridge.

“It was a great experience, and they will be struggling with the lack of food and the lack of sleep and that, but at the end of the day, it’s only three weeks, so you’ve just got to remember that.”

Despite not getting to experience that special moment, Jake said that finishing in second place was “amazing.”

The singer explained that he was “really excited” just to be on the programme, no matter where he finished in the competition.

Looking back on his time in the jungle, Jake explained "What you see is what's happening” and that left him surprised, as he thought that they would get “handed” a bit of food here and there from the people behind the scenes.

Ahead of tonight’s highly anticipated final, Jake had some words of advice for the final three: “I’d just say embrace it because you’ve made it this far. Now just enjoy the last few days, you’ve done the hard bit, you’ve done the rice and beans.”

He added that the campmates should embrace “every second,” as his time down under still feels like “yesterday.”

The finalists were confirmed on Saturday, 9 December, when This Morning host Josie Gibson left the camp following the public vote.

Her departure left the viewers at home disappointed, as one fan wrote online: “I’m so so gutted for Josie. Incredible energy. So glad we’ve got to see her shine.”

While another wrote: “I'm gutted for Josie! I wanted her to be the 1st person to take home the #bbuk & #ImACeleb crown.”
