Coronation Street's Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) made a welcome return to screens during the latest episode of the ITV soap.
The Weatherfield resident hasn't been seen for a while and her absense has left some viewers concerned that the character had been quietly axed. However, fans were reassured during Wednesday's (October 25) episode as Tracy paid a visit her brother Peter Barlow's (Chris Gasgoyne) flat with Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).
The Barlows are currently coming to terms with the fact that Peter mowed down serial killer Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) after his reign of terror came to a dramatic climax. A shocking twist saw Stephen ran over by Peter as he sped to The Rovers after hearing the murderer was back in town and had Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) hostage.

Peter learned that he was not going to prison during the latest episode but viewers were interested in Tracy's return to the ITV soap. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "Tracy returns!" Another added: "Tracy's back!". A third person said: "Yes! Tracy Barlow is back on screen." Someone else gushed: "It’s Tracy, good to have her back!". A fifth social media user wrote: "Our Tracy is back all is good in the world."
After Stephen was mowed down, Peter was arrested and questioned for his murder, but told police that he was trying to save Jenny. Stephen placed a broken glass bottle up to Jenny's throat, but what Peter seemingly did not realise was that the villain already had dropped the bottle and let Jenny go when he ran over and killed him.
In the recent scenes, a heartbroken Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) demenaded answers as to why Peter really killed her son. The grieving mum turned up to Peter's flat alongside Jenny as she asked him: "I just want to ask you a question Peter, why did you kill my son?".
Peter then responded: "Audrey, I'm sorry for your loss, but like I told you and the police he was dangerous and he was going to hurt Jenny," but Audrey then snapped back, "No he wasn't, and he told her," whilst looking over to Jenny, who then responded: "It's true that's what he said."
Peter then stood there stunned, as Audrey repeated: "So I'll ask you again, why did you really kill my son?." Peter then came back with: "Even if what Jenny is saying happened, I couldn't have known that, it was a split-second decision," before Audrey ended with: "But it was a decision and you made it."

But eagle-eyed viewers have been sharing their complaints about the conversation, with many pointing out that there was no way that Peter could have known what Stephen told Jenny, and others saying the soap writers have "lost the plot".
Taking to Twitter during the episode, one fan wrote: "Unless Peter has vulcan hearing, how would he know what Steven whispered to Jenny?," as another agreed: "Yes exactly it’s ridiculous," and third echoed: "Exactly! Utterly bizarre."
