Strictly Come Dancing's Angela Rippon branded 'arrogant and insufferable' for swipe about dance off on It Takes Two | The Sun

ANGELA Rippon has been at the centre of a Strictly Come Dancing fix row over the past few weeks as viewers questioned her progress to the last two rounds.

Now fans have hit out after the famous TV presenter made a blasé comment about her dance-off while on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two.

Angela has made it through to Blackpool Week after being saved by judges when she placed in the bottom two for the second time.

The 79-year-old and partner Kai Widdrington received high scores for their paso doble on Saturday, despite Angela slipping during the dance.

They were picked ahead of newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy, 53, and partner Lauren Oakley – who are now out.

It Takes Two host Fleur East quizzed the telly star about how she felt during the competition, asking: "Angela, it was your second week in the dance-off, it could’ve all ended very differently if it wasn't for the supporting leg that you saved. Did you think it was all over?"

But former newsreader Angela confidently responded: "No I didn’t. I mean I don’t know why, I think the floor was slippery or my shoe was slippery and it just went, but no I didn’t.

"I mean Kai sort of still had hold of me and I just knew what I had to do next and managed to do it."

After watching the interview, viewers were left even more convinced that Angela was confident she would be saved by the judges.

One person hit out: "Angela Rippon still being a tad arrogant that she didn't think her stumble would affect the result. We all knew that too."

Another complained: "I used to like Angela Ripon but now that she's been on Strictly she's become totally insufferable the way she goes on about how fantastic she is, she did not deserve to go to Blackpool."

The fix row continued with one viewer slamming show bosses saying: "Strictly Come Dancing beyond rigged to get Angela Rippon to Blackpool. Blindingly obvious – overmarked week on week."

A second wrote: "Yet another slow dance for Angela R this week…American Smooth. How come she's avoided all the fast Latin dances?? Oh well, she's got to Blackpool as planned…so hopefully she'll go out this week."
