Sarah Ferguson Opens This Morning
This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary were joined by Sarah Ferguson, but many viewers were left fuming over ITV’s choice and the chaos of the opening titles.
Before the titles rolled, Sarah was in the editing suite where she explained: “Hello and welcome to a special episode of This Morning.
“I am Sarah, the Duchess of York and I have appeared on this show many times. As an enormous fan of the show I have always enjoyed myself here.
“Today though, I am joining the family as co-host brackets fluff, alongside Alison and Dermot.
“And as guest editor for the day, I have been working with the brilliant team behind the scenes to bring you some of the topics I am most passionate about.

“I hope you enjoy today’s show, now all that is left for me is to say, roll the titles.”
As the titles finished, Alison said: “A very good morning and welcome to your Monday’s This Morning! And a very warm welcome to our guest editor Sarah! How are you?”
Sarah exclaimed: “Terrified! It is your show, I am just the fluff,” to which Dermot joked: “Sarah was this agreed in a moment of weakness saying ‘I would love to give that a go. What could possibly go wrong in two hours of live TV’.”
She laughed and teased: “It is just an amazing team here at This Morning, I will tell you just amazing! Apart from your two, it is just extraordinary.”

However, many viewers were furious about Sarah’s arrival and how chaotic the show already was and took to their X accounts, formerly known as Twitter.
@carolinefoulis fumed: “ITV has lost the plot. Massive switch off!! #thismorning.”
@MissLionHeart angryly wrote: “FFS I wanna know what’s happening in the world, not Gyles’ a**e-licking Royal stories #ThisMorning.”
@FlopsyPickle penned: “Fergie on This Morning, totally sums up how utterly pathetic the show has become.”
Sean Callaghan asked: “FFS! #SarahFerguson co-presenting #ThisMorning? Why?.”
Steve Lowe said: “I have literally no f***ing idea what’s happening right now. #ThisMorning.”
@Beckie_Miller_ commented: “I’m obviously having some fever dream #ThisMorning.” (sic)
However, not all viewers were annoyed as @RKiernan_ exclaimed: “I forgot how funny Fergie is #thismorning.”
Robson McTanned wrote: “Fergie! #thismorning,” alongside a grinning and thumbs-up emoji. (sic)
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
