An Amazon customer has been left furious after catching the moment a delivery driver threw a Christmas present over his garden gate on camera, before receiving a notification that it had been ‘handed to the resident’.
The moment the driver threw the £39.99 hair styling tool over the garden fence of Sean Newton’s home in Oldham, Greater Manchester, was captured on a security camera which faced the front garden.
Mr Newton had ordered the gift for his 12-year-old stepdaughter, and was at home when he heard a loud thud outside.
Shortly afterwards, he received a delivery notification which stated the parcel had been ‘handed to the resident’.
The 33-year-old then went outside the find the parcel had been thrown over his front garden gate, and went to look at the Tapo security camera to find out what had happened.
In the 28-second-long clip, the delivery driver can be seen walking up to the house. He looks at the gate and does not appear to attempt to open it, instead opting to throw the parcel into the garden.

Mr Newton claims the hair styling tool does not work due to a loose connection, which he thinks happened when the parcel was thrown into the garden
Mr Newton claims the hair styling tool does not work due to a loose connection, which he thinks happened when the parcel was thrown into the garden.
‘I was at home when the parcel was delivered’, Mr Newton said. ‘And the sound of the parcel hitting the floor and handrail genuinely sounded like someone knocking on my door. Which is the only reason I knew it was there.
‘They were a gift for my step-daughter who’s really into her hair and makeup at the moment.’
He issued a complaint to Amazon, who he says offered a full refund upon receiving the broken hair curlers.
But, he says this isn’t the first time he has had this experience with Amazon.
‘It’s not the first time I’ve had to complain directly to Amazon and it’s always the same story’, he said.
‘I know myself that it’s more than likely agency drivers who are brought on during the busy periods so you can’t really put it on Amazon themselves.
‘But the temporary drivers really need to have some pride in their work and do the job properly.
‘If you don’t put 100 per cent into everything you do, then what’s the point in my eyes’.
