Emotional Meghan Markle was left teary eyed during the sixth day of the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany as she was spotted in footage wiping away tears at a medal ceremony for the veterans.

Poland were victorious over Colombia in the sitting volleyball final which the Duke and Duchess attended today alongside Veteran’s Minister Johnny Mercer and the many, many supporters.

Video footage captured the moment Meghan was moved to tears while the crowd continued to roar with applause after she hugged and chatted with the winning competitors who were presented with gold medals.

Prince Harry, who founded the games for veterans back in 2014, put a comforting arm around his wife as they put on a united front at the competition. Meanwhile the royal family has avoided any reference to his 39th birthday.

Meghan displayed a rollercoaster of emotions as she cheered and joked during the captivating game before becoming tearful. Harry on the other hand roared and  jumped for joy when the final points were scored and the match came to a close.

As athletes at the Invictus Games in Germany were celebrated, it was double celebration for the Prince who turned 39 yesterday.

The crowds at the packed out stadium serenaded the prince with renditions of ‘Happy Birthday’ and inundated him with gifts – good wishes were notably absent from the monarchy’s official social media accounts.

The palace’s official social media accounts instead spent all day posting about King Charles, Prince William, Princess Kate, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh – without mentioning Prince Harry once.

But its unlikely Harry had time to notice with the couple’s packed schedule of engagements and three outfit changes for Meghan.

Meghan’s first look of the day was a muted outfit, as she sported a matching cream playsuit from Zara and a Celine blazer.

Bringing a touch of glitz to the outing, the royal styled her hair in loose waves and sported a glamorous make-up look while opting for fashionable black sandals.

She then opted to change into a long grey dress especially for the Team Canada Reception at the Hilton Hotel.

Her final look which she wore to the volleyball final was a flowing navy shirt dress.

During a time out in the match Meghan clapped along to the Macarena song as it blasted out around the arena.

Harry didn’t join in with her but chatted happily to the Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer.

Earlier today, Meghan posed for selfies with fans outside the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf.

She seemed more than happy to grant selfie requests from eager fans – including one group of women who urged the stylish Duchess to pose for their photo.
