Alexandra Burke has welcomed her second child with her partner Darren Randolph.
Sharing the happy news on Instagram, Alexandra posted two gorgeous pictures – the first showed her tiny tot's hand clutching Alexandra's finger, resting on Darren's hand. The second was an image of the new baby's feet.
Alongside the pictures, Alexandra wrote: "Feeling so blessed. We are now a family of four. Welcome to the world our little peanut."
Celebrities were quick to congratulate the family, with likes from stars including Strictly's Janette Manrara and Oti Mabuse as well as Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison and mum of five, Stacey Solomon, plus The X Factor's Fleur East who said: "Wooo! Congratulations mama."
Fans also added their comments, with one saying: "The biggest congratulations to you all. Welcome little one," while a second added: "Most precious times – congratulations to the family of 4," and a third said: "Huge congrats Alex. Over the moon for you guys Sending lots of love."
Alexandra is now a mum-of-two after the 35-year-old The X Factor winner gave birth to her first child with 36-year-old Irish footballer Darren last year.
The star showed off her bare baby bump in a set of Instagram pictures recently as she told fans her due date is “just around the corner”.
The singer captioned the photos: “No, this is not a flashback huns! Baby #2 is just around the corner. I’m nervous but extremely excited to meet the new addition to our little family. Feeling every single movement in my tummy lately and I smile with absolute gratitude to the universe for blessing us once again. We can’t wait to meet you little one.”
Days earlier, Alexandra shared pictures of the white and grey “zen” nursery room the couple have in their home, complete with teddy bears, a toy dog and a giraffe.
She wrote: “Our beautiful nursery. This room has been our zen place with the little one for the past year.”
Alexandra announced she was expecting her second child in April, just nine months after she and Darren had welcomed their first baby. On Instagram she wrote: “We are so excited to do this all again”, alongside a picture of them smiling as Darren cradles Alexandra’s baby bump from behind.
They revealed the birth of their first child, who they refer to as “Grape” on social media, on Instagram in July 2022 after posting an image of their baby’s feet alongside a touching caption.
At the time, Alexandra wrote: “Welcome to the world our little grape. We already love you more than words can say.”
The pair have opted to keep the name and gender of their first baby private in a bid to “protect” the child.
In a recent interview, Alexandra spoke about how she and Darren had planned to have another baby soon after their first, but never expected it to happen so quickly.
She said: “We were like, ‘Oh my gawd, it’s meant to be.’ God said, ‘Now’s the time.’” In June, the Bad Boys singer opened up about her “tough” second pregnancy, but added she wouldn’t change a thing.
Speaking to Alex Jones and Roman Kemp on BBC One’s The One Show, she said: “This is my second pregnancy. It’s tough but it’s such a blessing.”
Since winning The X Factor after duetting with Beyonce, Alexandra has forged a successful career in music and the West End. She also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, when she made it to the final with professional partner Gorka Marquez.
Darren currently plays for AFC Bournemouth and the Republic of Ireland national team.
