Ben Shephard left red-faced after Susanna Reid’s racy comment

GMB: Susanna Reid makes ‘quickie’ comment leaving Ben flustered

Ben Shephard was left red-faced as his co-host Susanna Reid made a crude comment about their debate on the show.

During Thursday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, the pair were questioning whether or not people shower before getting romantic.

It comes as the show was highlighting the current bed bug problem taking place in France.

Ben asked viewers: “Question for you this morning, should you and your partner scrub up before getting down to romance?

“We’re debating this later on Susanna.”

Confused, Susanna asked: “What, in case they’ve just come from the Eurostar and they might be covered in the blood-sucking mites?”

The 52-year-old was left perplexed at the thought of someone coming through the front door, leaning in for a kiss and then being told to go and have a full scrub down in case they were covered in the bugs.

Ben told Suanna that instead of a shower, people could have a quickly wet wipe themselves down.

He commented: “Have a quick wet wipe before you go and get busy.”

However, as Ben struggled to finish his sentence, Susanna cut in with a racy comment.

She quipped: “Before you have a quickie?”

Off camera, Kate Garraway could be heard giggling at Susanna’s crude statement as Ben was left flustered.

Realising the stifled laughter, Ben addressed Kate as he asked: “What?”

She replied: “It’s an extraordinary variety this morning isn’t it?”

As the music started to play to indicate there was an advert break coming up, Ben tried to draw the segment to a close.

He said: “We’re going to be debating that a little bit later on.”

Realising he was trying to move the conversation on, Susanna probed: “Are we? What’s your view?”

He replied: “My view is, we’re going to get the local news first.”
