Eamonn Holmes revealed last night that he had marked the anniversary of the first year since his mum’s heartbreaking death. The former This Morning star shared a photo on Instagram of himself and his four brothers standing beside their beloved matriarch, lamenting that she would have been marking her 95th birthday yesterday.
The 62-year-old Irish presenter had a close relationship with mum Josie, whom he recalled would always bless him with holy water when he came to visit her. Honouring her in view of his 800,000 followers, he explained: “She would have been 95 today but she passed away a year now.
“We all raised a glass to you Mum and visited your graveside. Gone but not gone #Rip … And Happy Birthday,” he added, attaching a cake emoji. Almost 12,000 fans acknowledged the post with a like, while @marg_2019 exclaimed: “Lovely family memory with your beautiful mum. She must have felt so proud of that photo having you all around her.”
“Never forget your mum, the one person who brought you into the world,” @damurdave chimed in. Celebrities who rushed to support Eamonn included Homes Under The Hammer star Lucy Alexander, who is close friends with his wife Ruth Langsford, and socialite turned TV personality Lizzie Cundy, who told him she was “sending huge love”.
@price8554 added: “Wowsa mummy you gave birth to some fine strapping lads!” Meanwhile GB News star Eamonn, who has been plagued with health issues in recent years, also shared further details about losing his mum at the time of her death a year ago.

“My 4 amazing brothers and I said Goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon. She’s at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation,” he wrote on Instagram.
“We loved and will miss her so much. Every time I visited her she came to the door to bless me with Holy Water and Wave goodbye. Now sadly it really is Goodbye Mummy x.”
She died on November 18, and Eamonn shared an additional photo of her on that date this year, describing her as “such a presence”, despite being ill at the time the snap was taken.
“I still feel her around me every day,” he tenderly revealed.

Heartbreakingly, Eamonn’s mobility has been so difficult in recent years that he wasn’t able to attend his mum’s funeral in person.
The star has been battling with back pain for a long time and recently had spinal surgery in a bid to ease his agony.
He told Kaye Adams on her How To Be 60 podcast that he regretted his situation, explaining: “I have been quite sad that I haven’t been able to make certain funerals.
“I do think it is a tremendous mark of respect to be able to turn up at someone’s funeral and just be there for them.”
However, he paid tribute to his mum at the service by appearing via video link.
