It’s been 50 years since he smooth-talked his way into the nation’s hearts as James Bond in Live in Let Die.

And now the family of Sir Roger Moore have auctioned off the late 007 actor’s collection of memorabilia and personal items for an impressive £1.1million.

Selling for more than double the £415,300 estimate, lots including the white ski suit from A View to a Kill and his own passport went under the hammer at Bonhams in London.

The actor, who died in 2017 at the age of 89, had amassed a vast collection of items, including 20 007 Swatches, given to him to celebrate Bond’s 40th anniversary, which sold for £76,600.

His Omega Speedmaster watch, which had an estimate of £5,000-7,000, sold for £61,360 while his limited edition Omega Seamaster, estimated to fetch £20,000-30,000, sold for £57,550.

The collection of 20 Swatch wristwatches came in a 007-themed brown suitcase, made to mark the 40th anniversary of Bond on film

Items of clothing including dinner suits, a Chesterfield coat and his collection of silk ties and cravats were all sold

Sir Roger’s Gucci contacts book, which features the addresses and phone numbers of famous figures including Princess Margaret and Sir Paul McCartney was also for sale

Posters of Sir Roger were also on offer, such as this one in which he was depicted against Grace Jones’ villain in A View to a Kill

Sir Roger’s ‘extensively used’ British passport, valid from 1991-2001 was estimated to sell for £2,000-3,000 but reached £12,200.

His family have said that a portion of the proceeds will go to UNICEF, for which Sir Roger was a long-time ambassador.

Sir Roger, who was also known for his roles in The Saint and The Persuaders, appeared as Bond in seven films in the 1970s and 80s. He died of liver cancer in 2017.
