We’ve lived in a van for 7 years – we found 5 places we can park and sleep for free, the last spot was the best | The Sun

A PAIR of committed followers of van life has found the best five places they can park and sleep for free.

The couple who took to the road in 2016, have spent the last seven years crisscrossing the country, loving their new life.

But they have learned the hard way that finding somewhere to pull up for the night that costs zero bucks hasn't always been easy.

However, through their experience of life on the road, they have created a list of five places that do just that.

It was a varied and sometimes surprising selection, but the last was by far the closest to their hearts, said Di (@beerving_america).

She routinely posts videos from the off-grid lifestyle she shares with her partner on her TikTok, which boasts a following of 221,000.

They are not digital nomads, however, and have had to earn their way to fund their home on wheels.

“After traveling successfully full-time for the past seven years, workamping has been our key to longevity on the road," she wrote.

Jobs they have taken up have included camp host, Amazon camperforce, holiday lot manager, sugar beet harvest, and restaurant work.

They see the variety of their lifestyle as a blessing.

In this post, she had some valuable tips for fellow van lifers.

“Our favorite free places to sleep while traveling full-time the past seven years in our RV,"she said.

Her top five were: casinos, breweries, BLM land, distilleries/wineries, and finally, farms.

Farms, she revealed, were "the best." In her video, you could understand why.
